Karylle, Yael Want to Beat Each Other!

YAEL & KARYLLE
Karylle and Yael have eyes only for each other but neither one of them is willing to step down to let the other win.

Check out the story behind below!

In the latest celebrity update, sweethearts Yael and Karylle want to beat each other at the Philpop 2013 finals night on Saturday July 20 at Meralco Theater, where they will perform two of the 12 competing entries.

In fact, Karylle will be performing Lara’ Maigue’s “Sa’yo Lamang while Yael will singing Paul Armesin’s Segundo.

The couple doesn’t hide their true feelings that they want to win with their respective entries.
The Philpop foundation’s executive director Ryan “Mr. C” Cayabyab is happy to see the two popular rival’s spunk and sense of competitiveness.

However, the awards night doesn’t lie in Mr. C’s court because it lies in the hands of the 12 jurors who will declare the winner and the recipient of P1-M and a specially-commissioned Ramon Orlina trophy.

“Isa lang ang importante. Bibigyan ninyo ng mataas na grado ang isang song pag may dating ito sa inyo. Pag naka-connect ito sa inyo,” Mr. C advice to the judge.

This is the chances that the song will touches the hearts of the judges as well as the same impact on the listener. It is the next OPM chartbuster people will sing everywhere they go.

As we all know that Mr. C knows music is more in the heart rather than in the mind. And he concedes judges of songwriting contests like Philpop can never be objective. You can never tell what the heart listens to. You can only hazard a guess.

“Tinggal na naming ang criterion na kailangan maging hit ang kanta because no one will know if this song will be a hit or not,” he says.

More to the point that contributing another original hit, Philpop is the answer to the common complaint that the new generations is hungry for new songs, not the covers and revivals ruling the airwaves these days.

“It’s our way of pushing OPM,” Mr. C explains.

Meanwhile, the album will be containing the top 12 songs is out in record bars and also available on www.mymusicstore.com, itunes and www.smart.com.ph/music.

With the business tycoon Manny V. Pangilinan bankrolling the project, Philpop can go a long way in making the future of musicians, singers and the entire OPM industry a lot brighter.

On the other hand, Mr. C is looking forward to next year, when he promises a “bigger, better Philpop. In fact, he is now in talks for a tie-up that will make him keep his promise.

In the meantime, let’s borrow a phrase from Mr. C and say, “May the best song win” come finals night.
