Excited to know more about this story? Well, check out this story below!

In the latest celebrity update, Cesar Montano’s camp denied the accusations of his separated wife Sunshine Cruz, who filed a complaint in opposition to him for alleged violation of RA 9262, also known as Anti-Violence Against Women and their Children.

As we remember in previous reports, Sunshine claimed that Cesar committed “violent acts” and accused her estranged husband of being a “very domineering, philandering husband” in an affidavit she submitted to the Quezon City prosecutor office.

Sunshine claimed that Cesar ‘violently attacked her, employed physical violence, and raped’ her during Mother’s Day, May 12, 2013.

However, Cesar’s legal counsel Atty. Joel Ferrer denied the accusations.

“With regards to the charges ni Shine, as contained in the complaint affidavit, of course, Cesar vehemently denied (it). Especially doon sa marital rape na sinasabi,” Ferrer said.

On the other hand, Ferrer talks about what transpired between the couple during Mother’s Day. He said that Sunshine “invited Cesar to have dinner” together with their children. Cesar stayed overnight at the house where Sunshine is now staying after dining at Heat Restaurant in EDSA Shangrila Hotel. The lawyer denied that any element of force was involved when the couple slept in one room.

“After dinner, nagpunta sila kung saan nakatira si Sunshine ngayon. If you recall, Sunshine left their conjugal dwelling at Tivoli and she stayed in another place. Natulog si Cesar doon sa bahay ni Shine. And of course they slept in the same room. Cesar stayed overnight, kinabukasan na siya umalis. The following day, nakareceive pa nga siya ng text messages kay Sunshine and several days after. So, walang pwersahan as among couple doing that thing. Walang pwersahang doon sa nangyari. It’s a thing done by couple,’ he explained.

Furthermore, Sunshine’s affidavit also stated that Cesar allegedly continues to harass her by “threatening her with physical harm, obscene accusations and grave defamations.”

“Yung sinsabi niya na physical or verbal abuse, of course, Cesar denies that. Wala namang pinapakita silang medical certificate noon. Ngayon na lang sinasabi iyan,” Ferrer said.

Recently, Sunshine told that she hasn’t seen her children since July 29, 2013 and that this prompted her to file complaint against Cesar. The Kapamilya actress admitted that she no longer wants to return to their conjugal home, so she instructed her driver to pick-up their children.

“Simula nung naghiwalay kami, I don’t go to that house anymore. My kids are telling me to pick them up because they miss me already. They wanna go home, so pinakuha ko sa driver. But I wasn’t allowed, hindi sila pinalabas ng bahay,” Sunshine said.

Ferrer said that the actress is free to see her children anytime and added that Sunshine seems to be very busy with her entertainment industry career.

“Pwede naman niya puntahan sa eskwela, sa bahay nila. Kaya lang hindi naman ginagawa ni Shine. She cannot deny the fact na Cesar is a good father. She’s been saying that naman in all her interviews. She gives credit to Cesar for being a good father and provider sa family. Cesar also said na hindi lang siya good father and good provider lamang, he’s also a good husband,” Ferrer said.

Meanwhile, in the official statement of Atty. Ferrer declared that Sunshine filed the cases against Cesar “to gain leverage in her fervent desire to seek an annulment of their marriage.”

The lawyer added that Cesar is “exerting earnest effort” to preserve the marriage for the sake of the children.
Cesar’s camp is preparing the answers oncer they receive the copy for the prosecutor’s office.

“We’re going to answer the charges. We’re preparing the answer once we receive the copy from the prosecutor’s office,” Ferrer said.
