‘End Of An Era’ For Ryan Agoncillo!

RYAN AGONCILLO
Despite a good television career, Ryan Agoncillo is obviously dismayed with some developments.

Why Ryan Agoncillo isn’t jolly these days? What is his reaction?

Excited to know Ryan’s feelings about it? Well, check out the story below!

Farewells are always painful, especially if you’ve been hosting an award-winning show like TV5’s “Talentadong Pinoy” for the past five years.  No wonder Ryan Agoncillo turned emotional at the press presentation for the show’s grand finalists recently.

“The decision of management to cancel our show sucks,” he said.

Ryan didn’t agree to the management decision but he can’t do anything about it.

“I don’t agree with it. Pero wala akong magagawa,” he explained.

In fact, the usually jolly Ryan paused to keep the tears from falling.

“This is the end of an era. We have proven that little people can slay giants,” he said.

The offers are many, but Ryan is not looking beyond Sunday, August 18, 2013, when Talentadong Pinoy Battle Royale will be held at the Cuneta Astrodome. Seven finalists are vying for the P1-M grand prize, a house and lot and the fourth Ultimate Talentadong Pinoy title.

“May mga talks with Noel (Ferrer, Ryan’s manager), but I haven’t eneterained any. I want to concentrate on the show for August 18,” Ryan revealed.

Furthermore, Ryan has already made a promised that to turn back the hands of time and try dancing again, this time for the Talentado grand finals.

“I feel it’s time to finally fulfill a dream. I’ve been practicing three times a week last week. My boss, Perci Intalan told me it can be my alternate future,” he said.

No doubt, Ryan will going to miss the “Talentado” staff, which has been with him since the time he hosted “Philippine Idol” many years back. Ryan adds that he will also miss the “level of excellence we’ve already been used to.”

Ryan looks back fondly at how it all began.

“When the show (Talentado) was offered to me, I was in the middle of a good relationship with ABS. Pumusta ako sa station (TV5). Kasabay nito no’n ang Fear Factor in ABS, plus the Kasal, Kasali, Kasalo (movie series) with Juday (Judy Ann Santos, his wife),” he recall.

This time around, Ryan wants to be more control, to create programs and have a bigger say on its content.

“A sitcom is in the works – a co-production with Mr. Tony Tuviera (owner of APT Entertainment),” Ryan said.

However, he doesn’t know yet what network it will air in.

Meanwhile, the “Talentado” host is bracing himself for his last hurrah in the show – a battle royal among finalists Sor Apao, Laserman, Rina Forbes, Larvae, Spyro Marco, Nocturnal and Haina Udin.

Ryan will go home and cry his heart out after the grand winner is announced and the curtain falls on his beloved show. But once he’s dried his eyes, he promises to move on.

“Isang bagsak lang. The next say, I’ll go back to the drawing board. There are a lot of plans for other networks,” he said.

He can at least take comfort in the fact that “it’s our decision to end the show on our terms.”
With that, Ryan rests his case.
