Top Taxpayer Kim Chiu Asks To Keep It ‘Clean’!

In the latest celebrity update, Kim Chiu have not joined the Million March on August 26, 2013 but she also shares the sentiment of the people who are crying foul alleged misuse of public funds.

As a taxpayer, Kim calls for clean governance and hopes that the government funds will be used accordingly for the citizens. The Kapamilya star is among the list of celebrities who pay millions of taxes every year.
In the newest BIR (Bureau of Internal Revenue) list, the actress was one of the celebrities that graced the Philippines’ list of top 500 taxpayers.

“Oo naman, ibang klase naman ‘yung binabayad naming na tax. Hindi naming alam kung saan napupunta. Sana clean government. ‘Yung Million People March, isa iyon sa mga dahilan na pinapakita ng mg Pinoy na hustisya naman para sa amin,” Kim said.

The Million People March encouraged Filipinos to put across their repulsion against the misuse of pork barrel funds.

“Kahit wala ako doon, ramdam ko ‘yung ibang galit ng mga pinoy, naiiyak sila sag alit. Siyempre hindi biro ‘yung pera, pinaghihirapan mo iyon, then mapupunta lang sa mga tao na hindi karapat-dapat,” she said.

Meanwhile, among the celebrities who joined the protest were Robin Padilla, Mariel Rodriguez, Bianca Gonzalez, Robbie Domingo, Raymond Gutierrez, Isabel Daza, Rommel Padilla, Georgina Wilson, Noel Trinidad, Jim Paredes and Leo Martinez.
