In the latest celebrity update, the lead actors of the gay-themed teleserye “My Husband’s Lover,” Dennis Trillo and Tom Rodriguez feel so overwhelmed at the success of their GMA-7 show.

“Hindi naming ini-expect. Akala naming nung una hindi ito tatanggapin ng mga tao. It’s a big surprise kasi it transcends pala status in life, gender. Siguro that’s the most beautiful thing about it. Wala siyang pinipiling kasarian or estado sa buhay. Marami siyang napapasaya,” Tom said at the press conference of Yes Magazine.

In fact, Dennis and Tom made it to the list of 100 Most Beautiful Stars.

Just like other love teams for whom fans have gave nicknames, the Tom-Dennis tandem is warmly referred to as TomDen. The duo has been getting raves, not just from the gay community, but from women as well.

“Sobrang nag-eenjoy kami na maraming natutuwa sa mga ginagawa naming. Wala na kaming mahihiling pang iba, Dennis said.

Dennis Trillo played a transgender for the first time in the film “Aishite Imasu 1941”. He also said that he drew on his acting experiences to portray the gay Eric in MHL.

“Magaling rin kasi ‘yung director (Dominic Zapata naming. Para siyang teacher sa set. Marami kang natutunan sa kanya. Nakagawa na rin naman na ako ng pelikula dati, parang I tweaked it lang at inalala ko lang ‘yung mga naresearch ko noon,” Dennis said.

It also helps that he looks at the good side of his co-actors.

“Para maka-arte kami ng ganoon, kailangan Makita mo rin ‘yung beauty na isang tao. Halimbawa, kung may relasyon kayo, Makita mo rin ‘yung magandang asset niya,” he said.

“Sa dami na rin ng mga nakapartner ko, sa kakaibang love team ako mas nakikilala. Nung una kami ni Aiza, ngayon naman kami ni Dennis. Ano naman kayang kasunod?” Tom, who was paired with Aiza Seguerra in Be Careful With My Heart,” Added.

Meanwhile, Tom is very overwhelmed the popularity he’s been receiving and he enjoy it.

“Lalo na’t kapag nagma-mall show kami, hindi ako sanay na ganoon karaming tao. Kapag nagshu-show ka, mariiring mo sarili mong hininga. Ngayon nagugulat ako na ganito pala talaga ang mall show,” he said.

While Dennis himself feels the show has made people more interested in him again.

“Masarap ‘yung feeling kasi in an instant naramdaman mo ulit na gusto ka ng tao. Kaya pinagbubuti naming ang trabaho para pangalagaan kung ano ang meron kami ngayon. Ngayon lang kasi ito, kinabukasan hindi mo na alam kung anong meron ka,” he said.
