Jake Cuenca Gets Bolder and He wants It That Way!

JAKE CUENCA
The Kapamilya star Jake Cuenca becomes bolder in his acting in terms of his role nowadays.

What kind of film did he do? Is Jake’s grandmother approving the decisions he made?

Excited to know more about Jake Cuenca? Well, check out the story below!

After playing an incestuous father in the Cinemalaya film “Nuwebe,” Jake Cuenca will star as a gay rebel who has an intimate relationship with his comrade (played by Joem Bascon) in Joel Lamangan’s “Lihis” according to the latest celebrity update.

It’s Jake’s way of giving viewers a choice other than run-of-the-mill stories of kilig, comedy and horror.

“Not for anything [but] I just want people to evolve already. It’s about time that we try to make movies that are interesting like the ones in the States,” he said.

As we all know that Jake’s chiseled body can be seen on many billboards along EDSA and he’s mighty proud of them.

However, not everyone approves it including his grandmother Dona Elvira Morato-Cuenca. Jake’s grandmother is the sister of Manoling Morato – former MTRCB (Movie and Television Review and Classification Board) chairman.

In fact, there was an instance in 2012 when Dona Elvira visited Jake in the hospital when he got sick due to over fatigue from a taping in Baguio according to Jake’s manager Neil De Guia. Neil also added that Dona Elvira disapproved of Jake’s revealing billboards.

That’s the reason why Jake was so surprised when his watchful grandmother graced the screening of “nuwebe” which shows Jake doing intimate scenes.

“To my family, please don’t hate me,” Jake said half-jokingly.

Fortunately, Dona Elvira and his brother Manoling saw how Jake has matured as an actor via “Nuwebe” according to Neil.

Meanwhile, the film is based on a true story, Jake played Moises, a father who abused his own daughter multiple times. His incestuous act led to the pregnancy of his nine years old daughter.
But Jake tried to sympathize with his character.

“I hope people will learn from the movie and see that it’s all real. It’s a true story. I have some sympathy for the dad but what he did was bad,” he said.
