Dennis Trillo Talks About Having A Gay Son!

If there’s one thing Dennis Trillo learned from “My Husband’s Lover” (MHL), a gay-themed series where he co-stars opposite Tom Rodriguez and Carla Abellana, it’s how to have an open mind regarding same-sex relationships.

In the latest celebrity update, Dennis Trillo became open minded in a complicated same sex relationships and the series taught him to empathize with unconventional relationships, something he has not been acutely aware of.

“Siguro lumawak ‘yung pang-unawa ko sa mga ganitong klaseng relasyon, ganitong ka-komplikadong relasyon ng lalake sa lalake. Dati medyo hindi ko maunawaan ‘yung ganung klaseng bagay, pero mula nung gumanap ako at nilagay ko ‘yung sarili ko sa mga sapatos nila, mas naintindihan ko kung paano at totoo palang nangyayari ‘to,” he said.

In ‘My Husband’s Lover’, the Kapuso actor portrays a successful, highly-driven gay architect Eric. And although he had some issues with his sexuality, Eric gets unconditional love from his supportive mother Soledad, effectively played by Chanda Romero and his friends.

The 32 years old actor sees nothing wrong if ever his 5 years old son Calix Andreas comes out as a gay (even though the actor is confident the boy wouldn’t turn out to be someone like Eric).

“Kung anoman [ang sexuality niya], matatanggap ko dahil anak ko ‘yun. Pero kampante akong lalake ‘yung anak ko dahil brusko siya. Walang sign,” he said.

However, Dennis admits that he might feel quite disappointed.

“Siguro may konting disappointment. Pero wala akong magagawa so kailangan kung tanggapin kung sakali,” he said.

Meanwhile, Dennis is very thankful to the series that introduced the unusual love team of TomDen (Tom and Dennis), a barrier between Dennis and the public has slowly crumbled. The show made Dennis more of a softie, a far cry from his old, stiff self.

“Nakatulong [ang series] para lumambot ako ng konti. Naging malayo din kasi ako sa mga tumatangkilik e, sa mga fans din. Ever since naging pribado ako, meron akong wall palagi. After ng ‘My Husband’s Lover’ palagay ko mabe-break down ng konti ‘yung ilang wall,” he explained.
