In the latest celebrity update, Dingdong Dantes renewed his
exclusive contract with the network for another five years with the presence of
GMA executives led by its chair and CEO Felipe Gozon.
In fact, it Dingdong’s decision and it came from the heart.
“Ang pinakaimportante, throughout
the 15 years I’ve been with GMA, they were always there to support me. Nung
nag-uumpisa pa lang ako at nangangarap, when I failed at hindi ko alam ang
gagawin ko, they were there to support me and my dreams. Beyond just being a
company and a network, GMA is my home,” Dingdong said.
Furthermore, the Kapuso star admitted that he even looked
for a sign to help him decide which network he would sign up with. The sign
came five minutes before his 33rd birthday was over last August 02,
2013.
“Every birthday ko kasi, parating
umuulan. For some reason, nung araw na yon, it was clear and sunny. Then, at
11:55 p.m., bumuhos ang ulan. It lasted for five minutes. I felt something,” he
explains.
That something, he says, told him to choose GMA’s offer. The
new contract contains an increase in his talent fee, a new family drama (“Genesis”),
a duty to act as GMA’s ambassador worldwide, and the privilege of having his
voice heard in all his projects.
Meanwhile, Dingdong doesn’t know yet, who are the Kapuso
stars he will work with again after “Genesis,” but he is sure of a TV special
once a year.
“I’m
looking at my advocacy, education, as theme,” he said.
