his role in MHL?
Excited to know more Tom Rodriguez? Well, check out the
story below!
In the latest celebrity update, Tom Rodriguez insists he is
still the ‘same guy and nothing will ever change that but he concedes the
teleserye has changed his social life.
“Mas marami nang nakakapansin sa
akin, bumabati. Ang sarap sa pakiramdam na people are happy with what you are
doing. You feel like a proud parent dahil sa work na inalagaan mo. It’s so
heartwarming,” he said.
The “My Husband’s Lover” star still can’t believe he is now
the center of attention. Thanks to his role as Vincent that has given Tom
leading man status, something that eluded him while he was doing movies and
teleseryes, including “Be Careful With My Heart,” where he played the other
half of a love team with Aiza Seguerra.
“Hindi pa yata ako nakaka-adjust.
Parang hindi totoo ang nangyayari, it feels like a dream. I just want to enjoy
it while it’s there because I know it’s never permanent and it’s because of the
people who put you there. Kaya I’m just thankful to them and I’m enjoying the
love they have for me now,” he explained.
Free time is now a luxury for Tom but he is not complaining.
“Right now, hindi ako makapaniwala
na ganito pala schedule nila. Dati rati parang pasulpot-sulpot lang ang trabaho,
okay lang. May time ka pa gumimik, mag-mall. Ngayon ganito pala na sunod-sunod
ang work. It’s all blessings. I’m really enjoying my work,” he said.
In fact, the new Kapuso actor is happy the public has
embraced his tandem with Dennis Trillo. Fans even coined the named TomDen for
the unconventional team-up.
“It’s really flattering. We didn’t
really think people would bite on to this tandem. We didn’t think people would
appreciate it. We thought we only have a niche or select market. We’re so
surprised na ang dami palang nakaka-appreciate. We’re thankful and flattered,”
he said.
Tom learned from the role is people are all the same no
matter what age, gender, or race you are.
“People are people. No matter what
race you are, age, color, gender, you all go through the same problems. You go
through the same feelings. Although may minor differences lang. pero ‘yung
general emotions mo shared through humanity, lahat pantay-pantay, pare-pareho,”
Tom replied.
Meanwhile, Tom is working with ‘MHL’ co-star Carla Abellana
again in Regal Entertainment’s new romantic-comedy movie “Let’s Take a Chance.”
The two stars have become friends, so they are very comfortable working with
each other.
“Masaya kasi we already have thir
rapport that we built in MHL. We no longer have to go through that adjustment
period na kikilalanin pa naming ang isa’t isa. At least we have enough time to
get to know each other. Here we just have to enjoy this because this is really
good, cute material,” he said.
