“May
feelings din kami, tao rin kami,” he said.
Gerald thinks that it’s already too much for the negative
criticisms to his girlfriend.
“Siyempre, umabot din sa point na
parang sumusobra din. Hindi porke’t parang artista lang kami, parang wala lang
sa amin kapag may nagba-bash. Siyempre, you know, may feelings din kami, tao pa
rin kami. Siguro, umabot na rin siya sa point na ganoon,” Gerald said.
In fact, Gerald also said that he and Maja are doing well
but he declined to give further details about their relationship.
“Sa amin na po iyon. Yung status naming
sa relationship naming, open po sa lahat. But yung sa relationship po mismo, it’s
not open,” he said.
Meanwhile, Gerald feels blessed to be part of the Erik Matti’s
film “OTJ,” which was well-received at the 66th Cannes International
Film Festival in France. The film won two awards at the 17th Puchon
International Fantastic Film Fest in South Korea.
Gerald confesses that he also dreams of making it in the
international scene someday.
“Nung andoon ako, hindi malayo,
hindi Malabo. Kahit artista ako sa Pilipinas, andoon kami for some reason.
Hindi Malabo. It’s always a dream to widen yung audience natin,” he confessed.
The Kapamily actor had a love scene with newcomer Dawn
Balagot in “OTJ.” The scene took hours to do because of different shots they
had to make.
“Kahit after ng love scene, medyo
nakakailang. Kasi it was our second day pa lang sa shoot, tapos ganoon na yung
eksena. At the end of the day, napaka-professional ni Dawn, napakagaling. Isa
siya sa mga dapata abangan sa movie,” he said.
Even though it was his first time to work with Dawn, Gerald
said that he felt comfortable with her, especially while they were doing their
love scene.
“Kasi kahit sabihin natin na
mainstream actor ako, tapos siya nagsisimula pa lang, at the end of the day,
andoon kami bilang actors lang, to make the movie good. Para pagandahin yung
eksena,” he said.
On the Job’s cast are Piolo Pascual, Joel Torre, Joey
Marquez, Shaina Magdayao, Angel Aquino and Empress Schuck, opens in cinemas
nationwide starting on August 28, 2013.
