What’s wrong with being second choice? Nothingm says the
actor who replaces Piolo in the ‘Kimidora’ prequel.
Guess who Kimmy’s new leading man is?
Excited to know who is this mystery man? Well, check out the
story below!
In the latest celebrity update, the new leading man of Kimmy
is none other than Sam Milby. For Sam, there is nothing at all to be a second
choice especially if you’re replacing someone like Piolo Pascual.
“This is a privilege. Siguro naman
depende kung sino ang nagging kapalit. But coming from (Piolo, it) is a
privilege. If (it was) someone different, ayoko na magbanggit ng names, (ibang
usapan na). Siyempre it worked out for me since matatapos na ‘yung “Huwag Ka
Lang Mawawala”. ‘Yung movie na gagawin ko with Anne Curtis and Cristine Reyes,
si Direk Chris Martinez din. And siyempre ‘yung management ko, Spring Films din
which is Piolo’s production studio,” Sam, who took Piolo’s place in the “Kimmy
Dora” prequel, said.
In fact, the singer-actor was referring to his other comedy
movie in the works of Chris Martinez’s ‘The Gifted’ under Viva Films, which
happens he will be reunited with his former girlfriend Anne Curtis, They were
last seen in the romantic-comedy movie “Babe, I Love you” in year 2010.
Furthermore, Sam already sent away of any chances of getting
awkward with Anne earlier this year.
“Okay naman kami. It’s been four
years. Hindi naman kami friends na nag-uusap lagi, pero yes nag-uusap kami,” he
clarified.
On the other hand, the Kapamilya actor explained acting in
two comedy movies calls for a drastic change in acting style.
“It’ll be a big adjustment coming
from such a heavy teleserye “Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala” and going to all the
comedy. Exciting naman. Siyempre kapag comedy magaan naman… a lot easier a lot
more fun,” he explained.
Although Sam looks stiff on TV because he’s usually typecast
in suplado and rich roles, he insists he has sense of humor too.
“Oo naman! Siguro ‘yun ang side na
hindi pa nakikita ng mga tao. Andaming roles na nagawa ko na masungit, romantic.
This is something different for me. Sana maipakita talaga ‘yung [funny] side of
me,” he insisted.
However, Sam also said the he doesn’t use humor to attract
girls like any other men do.
“Ako kasi most of my life ako ‘yung
shy. Kapag kumportable ako sa mga tao [doon na lumalabas ‘yung humor],” he said
Meanwhile, The Kapamilya actor took a three-month leave from
showbiz early last year to pursue his big “Hollywood dream.” And even if his
efforts to audition haven’t obtained rewards yet, he said that he’s far from
giving up.
“May balak talaga ko ituloy.
Siyempre may agency pa rin dun na nagrerepresent sa’kin. And kung may time ako
gusto ko pabalik-balik dun for pirate season. For the experience pa lang
sobrang worth it na. Ying pirate season kasi nagsa-start ng mid-January to May.
Ang pirate season sa States they don’t tell you mga bagong shows. What they do
is they email you ‘yung script para sa bagong show the night before audition,”
he explained.
Nevertheless, his Hollywood dream is also widely perceived
to have taken a toll on Sam’s career in the Philippines. While he admitted that
showbiz came easy for him, the “Kimmy Dora” star said he’s learning his lesson.
“You know I think it helped me a
lot because ako ‘yung tipong hindi naman naghirap para pumasok sa showbiz. I
entered PBB(Pinoy Big Brother), wala akong ginawa. And when I started thinking,
‘Ano nang gagawin ko?’”
On perception, Fil-Am actor said his career hinders made him
a better person.
“It pushed me… ‘yung mga times na
nahihirapan tayo those were times we try to push ourselves further and to
improve. Ako happy ako. SIyempre I know I still need to do things I need to
work on talaga, but I’m happy na ngayon marami akong improvements na ginagawa
ko sa sarili ko and nagyayari sa career ko,’ he said.
